The deeper mystery is whether these criminals are independently discovering Emorgy powers or whether somebody is deliberately distributing Emorgears to them. If there is a supplier or organization behind the incidents, the seemingly unrelated cases across different universes could actually be pieces of one enormous operation.
The different universes are not necessarily isolated. Events in one reality sometimes seem to have consequences for characters elsewhere. That raises the question of whether the universes are actually interconnected through a larger cosmic structure. If that structure has a central point, discovering it could explain why the same Gavan concept appears in multiple realities.
If Emorgears amplify emotions, another mystery is why certain emotions produce particular powers. Perhaps the ability is connected to the user’s personality, memories, or deepest desires.
